is not a five.
Eight platforms hold a score for CORE and they do not agree with each other. Booking.com says 9.0, Google says 4.3 out of 5, Expedia says 8.6, Trip.com says 8.9, ZenHotels says 8.7, and Tripadvisor says 4.3 out of 5 while also ranking us 36th of 107 hotels on Skiathos. The two metasearch sites, KAYAK and Trivago, say 9.0 and 8.9.
Averaging those into one number would be arithmetic without meaning, since each platform weights and collects differently — and some of them are counting the same guests twice. KAYAK and Trivago are metasearch sites: their 272 and 255 reviews are other sites’ reviews added together, not separate stays, which is why their tiles are labelled as such. So we print each score beside the name of the platform that holds it, linked to the page it came from, and let you read the sample you trust rather than a total.
Where each figure comes from, plainly. Booking.com and Tripadvisor scores as published on those platforms, recorded 7 September 2026. Expedia comes from the platform’s own public listing rather than from the page itself. Every other figure was read on the platform, and the note above the fold carries the date for each one.
Trip.com adds a wrinkle of its own: most of the reviews it shows are collected elsewhere — Expedia Group, Hotels.com and Tripadvisor — and only the score is its own. Where a quotation on this page came through that route, the attribution says so.
And the sample is not unanimous. The lowest recent score on Trip.com is a six out of ten, from an Italian guest in August 2026 who found the cleaning below standard on arrival, the shower doorless, and the Wi-Fi, in their word, “inesistente” — non-existent — until the owner called a technician. They closed: “Per il prezzo che abbiamo pagato e basso non è, potrebbero investirlo meglio.” For the price we paid, and it is not low, they could invest it better — our translation. It is on Trip.com with the rest.

Five things worth knowing about how this page is built.
Why is the same guest sometimes on two platforms?
Because several platforms share one pool. Hotels.com, Travelocity and Hotwire all carry the Expedia listing, and many Trip.com reviews are syndicated from Expedia Group or Tripadvisor. The page names the origin of each quote instead of hiding it.
Why is there no overall score on this page?
Because adding platform scores together would double-count the guests who appear on more than one. Each platform is shown with its own figure, read on its own page and dated, and none of them is marked up as a rating in the page's structured data.
Are the negative reviews here too?
Yes, deliberately. The lowest score the page carries is a six out of ten, quoted at length in its own section rather than buried. A reviews page that shows only tens tells you nothing about the property.
Are the quotations edited?
Only by shortening, and a cut is marked. Spelling and punctuation are the guests' own. Where a review was written in Italian or German, the translation is ours and is labelled as ours.
