House rules

You book one of five categories and Magda and Gregory give you a suite within it, according to what is free on the day. Fourteen suites, each with a name rather than a number, two to four to a category.

A name cannot be chosen at booking and cannot be requested afterwards, not even by a guest who loved one last year. Every suite in a category is sold on the same terms because every one of them faces the sea.

The house is on the Pounta hillside, across the bay from Skiathos Town: about six minutes from the airport by car and about thirteen from the old port. There is no bus on this side and the walk into town takes about forty minutes on a footpath, so a car or a taxi is the practical way to arrive.

Core Luxury Suites does not run or arrange transfers of any kind. Taxis wait at the airport and at the port; we will pass on a number if you ask for one. Confirm the fare with the driver before you set off.

The property is gated. Check-in is from 15:00 and the hosts take arrivals until 23:30; check-out is by 11:00, with the door open from 07:00 for an early flight. If your flight lands after 23:30, tell Magda and Gregory before you travel rather than on the day.

The times on your booking confirmation are still the ones that bind, so read it when it arrives.

Address and directions

There is no pool party here and no music from a bar, because there is no bar. What the house sells is the quiet, and it only works if everybody keeps it. Voices carry between terraces on a hillside at night further than they do at home.

From late evening the terraces are for sitting on, not for gathering on.

By day, aircraft on their approach to Skiathos pass in view of the terraces. Guests have generally found it a spectacle rather than a nuisance, but it is not quiet while it happens, and you should know that before you book.

No breakfast, no restaurant, no bar, no pool. No transfer service. The island has the tavernas and the beaches, and this is a place to be independent from.

There is a tennis court on the property. Ask us before you pack a racket.

Questions guests usually ask

The house is built on a slope above the sea, which is where the view comes from, and there are steps between its levels. If steps are a problem for anyone travelling with you, write to us before booking and describe what you need; we know the ground better than any page can.

Accessibility statement

Pets are not accepted. There is parking at the house. Write to us about smoking, visitors who are not staying, and whether a damage deposit is taken — we will tell you before you book.
