CORE is on the Pounta hillside across the bay. The old port is about 13 minutes by car, 5.0 km by road, or roughly 41 minutes on foot over a 2.8 km path. The drive is longer in kilometres than the walk because the road goes around the bay and the runway.

Skiathos Airport is about six minutes away by car, roughly two kilometres. Taxis wait at the airport and at the port. CORE does not operate or arrange transfers of any kind; your hosts will share a local taxi number if you ask before you travel.

No. The property runs no transfer service and does not book one on your behalf. This is a deliberate limit rather than an oversight, and we say it plainly so nobody arrives expecting a driver. Taxis are available at both the airport and the port.

Yes. Free private parking on site, and you do not need to reserve a space. It matters more here than at a town hotel: there is no bus on the Pounta side of the bay, so nearly every guest arrives in a hire car or a taxi and keeps the car for the week.

No. The island bus runs from Skiathos Town along the south coast to Koukounaries and does not serve the Pounta side of the bay. Guests here use a hire car or taxis for every journey, including dinner in town.

It is about 41 minutes on a 2.8 km footpath. We would not recommend it on arrival with luggage, or after dark before you know the route. Walk it later in the week in daylight if you want the view back across the water.

Pounta Lazareta, 370 02 Skiathos. Island addressing is not what a satnav expects, so give a taxi driver the area name and the property name rather than a street number. Both are known locally, and the hosts will send directions before you travel.

By air into Skiathos International Airport, or by ferry. The shortest advertised crossings are about 40 minutes from Mantoudi on Evia, about 1 hour 10 from Volos, and about 3 hours 10 from Thessaloniki in summer. Confirm sailings for your own dates.

For a week here, yes. There is no bus on this side of the bay, and two trips into town a day plus a beach adds up to four or more taxi fares. Book the car before you arrive in July and August; the island fleet is finite.

From 15:00, and the hosts take arrivals until 23:30. Your booking confirmation carries the times that apply to your rate, so check it against this. If your flight lands later than that, tell Magda and Gregory before you travel rather than on the day.

Write to the hosts. A guest review from July 2026 records Magda finding a room for an extra night when a flight was cancelled, and Gregory collecting the guests from the airport late in the evening. That was a one-off kindness on a cancelled-flight night, not a service the house offers: there is no transfer service of any kind. It is a fair picture of how they work, not something to plan around.

Because the fourteen suites are grouped into five categories, and the hosts assign a room within your category on arrival from what is available. A name cannot be selected or requested. We say so everywhere rather than let it be a surprise at check-in.

Signature sleeps up to five across two suites; Family sleeps four across three; Superior sleeps three to four across four; Deluxe sleeps two across three; Classic sleeps two across two. Fourteen suites in total, all facing the water.

Yes. The form on this site takes up to five suites and the engine up to ten. For a group taking most of the house, write to the hosts first: fourteen suites in five categories is a small enough inventory that a large party is better arranged by email.

All fourteen face the water, across the bay towards Skiathos Town and the port. What differs between categories is the size of the suite and how many people it takes, not whether it looks at the sea.

No. The names — Daniel, Kassandra, Patrick, Alessia and the rest — belong to real doors, and the plate beside each says so, but they are not a menu. You book the category and Magda and Gregory choose which door is yours.

There is no breakfast service, and nothing is served at CORE. Most guests do a supermarket run in town on the first afternoon. Skiathos Town is about 13 minutes away by car.

No. There is no restaurant, no bar and no room service. Some booking sites still list an on-site restaurant; that listing is wrong.

No. There is no pool at CORE. If a pool is the centre of your holiday, this is not the right house, and we would rather say so here than have you find out on arrival.

Nothing is served on the property itself. Ask the hosts before you book if cooking rather than eating out is the plan. The supermarkets are in and around Skiathos Town, about thirteen minutes away by car.

Yes, in every suite. Each suite also has its own furnished terrace facing the water, which is where most guests spend the evening given there is nowhere on the property to buy a drink.

Yes. A guest review from July 2025 records the owners installing a Starlink connection after an earlier problem, which is the kind of detail we would rather quote than claim in the abstract. Ask the hosts if you need to work from the suite.

Yes, a safe-deposit box. The grounds answer the other half of the question: one Tripadvisor guest describes the property as gated, so very safe and private, and the parking sits inside the gate rather than out on the road.

There is an outdoor tennis court on the property, and it appears in the photographs. Ask the hosts whether it is open to guests and whether it needs to be booked.

You will see them. Aircraft on final approach to Skiathos pass in view of the terraces, because the runway sits about two kilometres from the town across the bay. Guests here consistently describe it as a spectacle rather than a nuisance.

It is gated, on a hillside among the pines, on the opposite side of the bay from the town. Guests describe it as quiet and private, and that is the thing the property is actually for. The trade is that everything else is a drive.

No. Pets are not allowed at CORE, in any category. It is worth settling before you book rather than after: Skiathos has few properties that do take them, and arranging an alternative late in the season is difficult.

Not indoors. CORE is a smoke-free property. Every suite has its own furnished terrace, and where smoking is permitted outside is a question for the hosts on arrival rather than something to assume from the terrace door.

Yes, and the Family Suite is built for them: three suites in that category, each sleeping four. Two things to plan for. Cots are not available, so bring a travel cot for a baby, and the property is a hillside with steps between its levels.

Greek law charges a climate crisis resilience fee on every paid overnight stay, per room per night and higher from April to October. No accommodation can waive it. The booking engine itemises the room total and the taxes separately before you confirm.

Four things carry a week: the south-coast beaches, the old town and its five small museums, the abandoned medieval town of Kastro in the north, and a day on the water — either round to Lalaria by kaiki or across to Skopelos by ferry.

Yes, and usually more than once. It holds the restaurants, the ferry port, the Bourtzi peninsula and the museums, in a grid you can cross on foot in about fifteen minutes. From here it is about 13 minutes by car each way.

The fortified town on the north coast that the islanders founded around 1360 to escape pirate raids, and abandoned in the nineteenth century. It is reached by driving to a parking area and walking about half an hour up, or by kaiki from the old port.

Partly. The old port appears in the film, but the famous clifftop chapel, Agios Ioannis Kastri, is on Skopelos, as are the Kastani and Glysteri beach scenes. Damouchari in Pelion played the harbour village. Skopelos is about 25 minutes away by fast boat.

Comfortably. The shortest crossing is about 25 minutes to Skopelos Town and about 10 minutes to Glossa at the northern end. Book the return sailing before anything else, and do not put the crossing on your last full day.

The harbour front in Skiathos Town has the view and the highest prices; the lanes one block behind Papadiamanti street are quieter and generally better value. Beach tavernas on the south coast are for lunch. From here every dinner is a 13-minute drive.

The town and the south coast are, in the first three weeks of August. The north coast, the boat trips and the hillsides are not, and September is a noticeably quieter island with the sea still warm.

Xanemos, about eight minutes by car. The Municipality places it in front of the airport runway. Megali Ammos, the organised Blue Flag beach nearest the town, is about twelve minutes away.

Only by sea, and only in dead calm. The Municipality is explicit: daily boats leave from the port and sail strictly when the water is flat. There are no facilities at all, and removing the white cobbles from the beach is forbidden.

For a full day, yes. It is about 29 minutes each way from here. The Municipality calls its fine sand Golden Sand, notes the pines the beach is named after, and records a Blue Flag every year. It is also the busiest sand on the island.

The Municipality maintains a page for twenty-six of them, and the island is generally credited with more than sixty along 44 kilometres of coast. Most visitors settle on five or six in a week, chosen by the wind on the day.
